St. James will be closed for all activities and events, including Sunday services, for the next 14 days. This is in compliance with the preventive health recommendations as per Gov. Wolf in regards to COVID-19.
St. James will host the Penn View Brass Band (PVBB), a 28+ piece brass and percussion ensemble on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. PVBB plays various styles of music, from marches to Broadway. Their program will feature something for everyone, including marches to salute our veterans, Sousa’s “Liberty Bell March”, and themes from movies such as Frozen.
PVBB has been performing in the PA-NJ-DE region for years at community days, festivals, baseball games, and other events. They strive to educate students and adults about the history of brass bands and the various instruments that make up the “British style” brass band. The band is non-profit, and comprises retired music teachers, vets, lawyers, consultants, and business owners.
This “free will offering” event will take place at the pavilion adjacent to the church. In the event of rain, the concert will be performed inside the church. Contact Donna Pinto (Minister of Music) at (610) 792-1679 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or John Shaw (PVBB Director) at (610) 539-8594 for more information.
